Hi everyone, Welcome to my blog. It's just somewhere that I record my thoughts, activities and anything cool that I find. Hope you enjoy, Stay Mongrel :-)

Sweedish Furniture, a Happy Birthday and a Mucky Party . . . . .
Well, this weekend went all too quickly. Spent Friday night (until 0130) building a massive wardrobe, yesterday was my Nephews' first birthday party and today Naomi has been at my sisters Ann Summers party, so I've been to visit my Mother. It feels like this is the first time I've managed to sit down and chill out.
More busy times ahead though, next weekend we're away to a birthday party and the following weekend is party time as the 'Bristol Headbangers' reunite at a new location (our house) for a weekend of messiness and Dreadzone. It'll be festival season before we know it!
I got to drive my nephews' for the first time today too, dropped them off and my sisters and picked up Naomi. I was giving them a guided tour on the way: "On your left you will see The Beehive, where I shall take you for beer and football when you are nearly old enough . . . etc . . .
Here's a couple of pics of the laddos enjoying their birthday
Necromania Mongrel . . . .
I've just booked my spot for my first archaeology practical. I think archaeology is going to be one of my favourite modules. Apparently we get to play with real proper human remains at some point in the near future! How creepingly awesome is that going to be!?!? I think I'm really going to enjoy my module choices this semester, especially mucking about with real human skulls and stuff! Gotta get through tomorrow first though, Data Transfer Analysis & Presentation on a Monday morning is a hefty price to pay for anything.

I'm back and I survived . . . . . just
Hello there, first post for a while due to exams, but they're now finished and I survived . . . . just. I don't think I did too well and am expecting to have to resit a couple at least. This could be avoided (as I understand) if I ace my Spring semester modules, which I intend to do.
If there's one good thing to come out of January exams, it's that they highlighted that I need to do a lot more work and reading around my subjects when not at university. The bad side however, is that there is a small chance that one or more of the resits (if required) could potentially fall during Bestival. I'm starting to formulate a plan that would navigate around this problem, but it's still in it's early stages and there are many hurdles to overcome.
This is the first week of the new semester and I've so far had lectures in two of my new modules. One was Data Transfer Analysis & Presentation, which seems boring as! One highlight though was that one of the lecturers is called Dr John Hammond like off of Jurassic Park! The other module was Managing Tourism and the Environment: Conflict or Consensus. The lecturer for this one seems a right laugh and seems very passionate about his field.
Today, I have my third lecture of the new semester which is Environmental Archeology. I'm quite looking forward to this as it involves bones and fossils and cool stuff like that. Maybe one day I could end up on time team digging shit out of the ground to find out what the climate etc was like back in the good old days when God were a lad!
Anyway, must dash, lecture is in an hour :-)

Week one of get back to health over . . . . . .
Well folks, I weighed myself today after a full week of being back on the Atkins Diet and exercising a little, and I've lost 3.5Kg or 7.7lbs. I'm pretty happy with that, I've just got to hope that the weight loss doesn't slow too much, and I'll be hitting my target for Bearded Theory :-)

Ooops, that turned into a long revision break . . . .
About lunchtime I decided to take a break from my revision for an hour or so and have a mess around with Ableton Live (Music production software). I've had it a while but never got round to installing it. Turns out it's rate good fun and massivley addicting making (or in my case attempting to make) music. An hour turned into 4 in the end and so the above track is the sum of my revision . . . . . . . . . . I wonder if any of it comes up in the exam???

If any of you like chilli . . . . . .
Click Here for a recepie from BBC Good Food that i've been using for a while. Having it tonight (minus the kidney beans cause of carbs) It's the best chilli recepie I've tasted in over a quarter of a century!!!
Pepperpepperami . . . . . With Cheese!
Really good day today, did my workout this morning and actually felt a little bit of enjoyment in between the gasping for breath and sweating. I also took the dawg out again for half hour or so.
Then I headed off to my parents house to use their washer as ours is broken (hopefully only until Wednesday.) Whilst the washing was doing I carried on with my revision, which I'm thrilled to say seemed to start fitting into place today. So much so that I attempted one of the practise question sets and knew every answer :-)
Back home now for a nice Atkins compliant snack to tide me over until tea time. Didn't have lunch because I had a late breakfast and so I'll probably be having tea later too. Pepperpepperami and cheese, Lovely!

Dog Waddling

Well it's a scheduled rest day from my fitness program today and I'm more than thankful. If not for the sake of my legs which have just about seized up solid, then for the sake of my education. I'm at the beginning of another day of intense revision.
I have exercised a small amount though, by walking the dog a couple of miles, which seems to have loosened up my legs a little. At the beginning i was just kind of waddling along like one of them penguins off the telly, struggling to pick my feet up!
I was going to show Naomi Saturn through the telescope this morning but clouds wind and rain have yet again thwarted my efforts.
Ah well, back to the books. . . .

That was stupid hard. I am so unfit and fat I nearly yakked after the first exercise!!!
Just finished my first workout with EA Sports active 2 and I am knackered!!! Got me pouring with sweat and hurt my legs a hell of a lot. I think its all the weight they have to carry combined with being couch locked for the past 5 months. This is going to be a lot harder than I thought, but I'll stick with it. Now, time for a shower and some intense studying.

I already have one fitness game but heard very good things about this one. Can't hurt to have some variety. I'll give it a try in the morning :-)

New Year, New Blog
Hi everyone, since windows are shutting down the old blog site I thought I'd make a new one on here. I'm just going to use it to record my thoughts, activities and anything cool I find.
For the first few months of the year it will also serve as a motivational aid to help me shift all this fat I've lumped on since moving back up here. I aim to lose 3 stone by Bearded Theory (14th May for all you none festi types). I did it before in Bristol and I reckon I can do it again. I'm going to do Atkins again and start using the fitness program on my Kinect. I'm gutted by my current level of fitness and can barely walk to the shop without getting out of breath. The good news is that I've already managed to quit smoking so that should aid me in my quest. I aim to be able to ride my pushbike (and enjoy it) by April and want to be surfing again by the autumn.
Anyway, today is my last day of eating whatever I want so I'm going to have a bit of a carbohydrate binge washed down with my remaining lager (I'm gonna miss you)
It may take me a while to get used to the new blog format but I'll do my best. This week will no doubt be uneventful, as from tomorrow I'll be following a strict revision plan so that one day I can save the world from Sarah Palin and all the other climate change sceptic dogs arsehole horrible puss filled zits!
Anyroad, my black pudding is almost done so cheerio for now.
Keep it Ice Road folks! :-)
Paul x
