I don't remember jobs being this scarce . . . . .
So, I'm currently looking for a part-time job, pretty much anything will do we just need more money to maintain our lifestyle. I've worked many a part-time job in the past and can never remember them being this thin on the ground.
Can anyone remember being a student and maybe offer some advice or highlight any areas that I may have overlooked? I've applied to Burger World but think that my sudden disappearance from the Newquay branch may cause me issues if they go there for a reference. I've got a few kitchen/bar work vacancies to chase up, but beyond that all the other listed jobs are those borderline scams wanting you to be a manager of your own business by delivering cleaning catalogues or some crap.
I'm guessing it's only going to get worse as the cuts hit and more and more people are forced into taking anything they can get.

All over the net already but worth posting . . . .
Here's one for those into gaming and/or geekery, others will find it meh . . . .
Today saw the launch of the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and it looks the biz! I am proper excited for this, almost to the point of wishing away the summer (but not quite lol) Here it is . . . . . . .

A poem I wrote about the evil Norovirus
Here's a poem I just wrote about my week spent living with Norovirus
Mister Noro
My thoughts spritely danced through lush flowered meadows,
and pondered long beaches made pretty with pebbles.
My energy was high my motivation unmatched,
a revitalised me had not long ago hatched.
Soon after embarking on this happy routine,
my happiness peaked at the me I had seen.
No wasting my day by lying bed,
I was up amongst nature with the sky tinted red.
Then early one evening on the day of the sun,
a nice quiet break aft the weeks race was run.
Was spoiled so sudden these things sent to try us,
I'd somehow ingested the grim Norovirus.
Not long after laying my intention to rest,
Mister Noro made clear he'd completed his nest.
Maelstrom in gut and regretting the sarnie,
I made a mad dash barely making the Khazi.
Explosions and flashes Expulsions and pain,
gastroenteritis confirmed my new bane.
This wasnt't the cramps of much cider or perry,
twas a Calciviridae that dwelt in my belly.
No cure no hope the end not in sight,
this tiny invader had drained all my might.
For hours and days my food lay untouched,
a cool glass of water was still way too much.
Now still horizontal but with light at the tunnel,
most food still eludes me through fear of more trouble.
For now it's more rest til I make my return,
nothing more to report so for now I adjourn.

Beautiful Sunrise to Beautiful Sunset . . . . .
Here's a few images (Click to enlarge) that I took today. The first is of the sun rising amongst the 'pools' of mist, as seen from the back garden and the other two are of the sun setting over the Amber Valley. On the final image you can see Crich Stand to the right. Here's a link to the website so you can see what it actually is. It's certainly got an interesting history. I hope to try and catch it when the sun is setting directly behind it. I'm not sure whether I've missed it or if it's yet to come, let alone whether I'll be able to capture it at any meaningful quality without a top of the range camera etc. . . . . I'll check whether I've missed it at some point on Stellarium.
Saxon Unleashed!!!
I finally took the plunge and let Saxon off of his lead today. He's been off it before just not with me. I was pretty scared that he'd just leg it and get run over or something. Turns out he was very good and came back when I shouted him. He ran super fast and chased down a stick that we found over and over again. I did six laps of the football pitch with him and then walked the long way home to try and get some of the mud from his paws. It's a shed load better walking him off the lead. We didn't encounter any other dogs though so I guess we'll see if he's really good when that happens.
In other Saxon related news, he's figured out he can get on top of the bag of gravel we're going to finish the garden with and look over the fence. He should be an olympic high jumper if he can get up there!
